Our Mother Earth gives to us freely and unconditionally, but we have not always honored her. We have raped her of her natural resources. We have exploited her and used her again and again. She is essential for our existence, yet we have taken her for granted.

She is not only Mother to us as human beings, but she provides shelter for all of the other animals. She is a haven for every creature with breath. Truly we need her desperately; for without her we would have no air to breathe, water to drink or produce to eat. She is our provider and our friend, but at times we have been no better to her than a foe.

Indeed, exploration and discoveries are great wonders. The power of invention is a creative force and technology is important for the advancement of civilization. Rather than a war between technology and nature--which is self-defeating because by destroying Mother Earth, we destroy ourselves--technology and nature should be as one.

For instance, the creation of vehicles of the future that utilize newer, cleaner, renewable sources of energy is one method of healing Mother Earth without holding back technological advancement.

In the past, the relationship between technology and nature has been an abusive one, but in the future, technology ought to be subservient to nature, and make up for the harm that has been inflicted upon her. In this new age, let us consider all causes, and progress as a technologically advanced nation, but in doing so, still honor our Mother Earth.
